Kimono Place is a gallery and marketplace for beautiful, interesting and unique items from Japan. The site is the dreamchild of mother-daughter team Sue and Melissa Larson of Nashville, TN.

The Larsons' introduction to Japan began in the 1980's when close family members moved to Tokyo. After 15 years, multiple visits and growing intrigue with Japanese textiles, this site was born. After months of buying, planning and working, the website was launched in June 2003.
