This exceptional doll is one of the largest we've seen. It measures 18" and is traditional in style with squarish head, cylindrical body and rounded shoulders. The facial features are well-drawn and dramatic. The body is painted with rings at the top and bottom with some paint wear to the floral design. There are areas of moisture spotting around the top and bottom rings and on the floral motif. There are identations in the wood on the back side of the head. The wood is a soft golden color from age.
This item is clearly signed "Gashiku". Please see item #157 for a companion doll in a larger size with the same markings.
