Unusual vintage kokeshi doll with natural use of irregular birch branch as body. Measures 11.5". Body has irregular cut-away center with hand painted lake scene and kanji. Unsigned. Varnished surface has aged to a warm golden color and a pleasant lightly crackled texture. Condition is very good with aging to finish, tool marks on back of head and streak running down back that did not get varnished.
