Children's kimono are smaller versions of the adult size; although some feature special collars or ties to help keep the garment on a squirming kid! Shichi-go-san is a special children's day for 7-, 5- and 3-year olds, so many of the kimono are made to fit children these sizes. Children also wear yukata (unlined cotton kimono) for school programs and summer festivals.
